RON UNDERWOOD, ASSOCIATIONAL MISSIONARY

Ron has served as Associational Missionary since June 1, 2014. He and his wife Paulette have 3 grown children – John (Olivia), Jerry (Shannon), and Paula (Phillip). He has 7 grandchildren.  Prior to pastoring five years in Sumter, Ron was a North American Mission Board home missionary, serving as an Air Force chaplain for 26 years.  He has lived all over our country and world, seeing and doing missions in many diverse places.  His ministry passion is to faithfully obey the Biblical mandates to lift up Jesus Christ through life-changing worship, intentional discipleship, joyous fellowship of believers, effective community outreach and aggressive sharing the gospel of grace, the hope of our world. Ron is a graduate of North Greenville University, Furman University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
